The Humanities Scholarship & Programme (HSP)

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) is the first and only Humanities Scholarship and Programme (HSP) centre offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

The holistic and comprehensive Humanities Programme in Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) seeks to leverage its scholars’ shared passion for the humanities to serve as catalysts for change, for God and Humanity. Scholars embrace the best of the Humanities education through a differentiated academic challenge. Rigorous and stimulating, the programme provides an enriched suite of opportunities for students to explore their interests, nurture their talents and discern their role in society, all within the supportive framework of a close-knit community blessed with a dedicated teaching team and a strong alumni network.

The HSP is is one of the Humanities Talent Development Programmes offered by ACS (Independent), the other programmes being the Advanced Class for Integrative Studies (for Year 5 and 6 students) and the Accelerated Class for Humanities (for Year 3 & 4 students in the Integrated Programme).

For IP students: Application for 2025 cycle starts on Monday, 14 October and ends at 11.59pm on Wednesday, 13 November 2024. No offline applications will be accepted after application period ends.

Indicate your intent to apply for the HSP so that the school can begin to process your nomination, at www.tinyurl.com/ACSIHTDP by 5pm on Tuesday, 29 October 2024.

For all other students: Application for 2025 cycle will start in mid-January 2025.

Eligibility

The HSP is open for application to Singapore Citizens who:

Have done consistently well in school and obtained outstanding results in their GCE O-Level examinations or Y4 IP Results (>70% overall)
Obtained at least a B3 in English Language or equivalent.
Have good co-curricular activities record.
Have good conduct record.

Applicants should not currently be in receipt of any other MOE scholarship (except EESIS and ESIP).

HL English Literature
HL Economics
HL History or Geography
SL Biology or Chemistry or Physics
SL Mathematics
SL CLB/MLB/TLB
