Celebrating 140 Years of Excellence: ACS140
The ACS Family commemorates 140 years of heritage, faith and educational excellence. Since Bishop William Fitzjames Oldham founded the first Anglo-Chinese School in 1886, we have remained steadfast in our mission to nurture Scholars, Officers, and Gentlemen.
Guided by our calling to be Catalysts for Change, For God and Humanity, we look back with gratitude and forward with purpose.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
– Matthew 5:16
This year’s theme verse reflects our enduring commitment: to raise leaders who act with integrity, serve with conviction, and shine as a light in the world. ACS140 is more than a milestone; it is a renewed call to carry the ACS spirit into the future.
The ACS140 Combined Service
On 26 February 2026, the ACS family gathered at the Singapore National Stadium for a combined celebration service ahead of Founder’s Day on 1 March. The stands were a sea of red, blue and gold as approximately 12,000 students, staff, alumni and friends from all seven ACS schools came together to commemorate the event.
We were honoured to have Dr. Eng Ng Hen, Distinguished Old Boy and Former Minister for Defence, alongside the ACSOBA and members of the wider ACS family, in attendance for an afternoon of reflection and thanksgiving.
To commemorate this momentous event, ACSOBA produced an ACS140 commemorative video which premiered at the celebration. The film brings together the voices of the ACS family leaders to share their reflections and hopes for the future. Whether you are a current student, an alumnus, or a friend of the school, the film captures the heart of our collective journey, honouring our storied past while looking ahead with purpose to what lies ahead as “One ACS”.

ACS (Independent) Founder’s Day Service
Following the combined service at the National Stadium, ACS (Independent) also held our school-based Founder’s Day celebration and prize presentation on 27 February 2026. IB and GCE O-Level Class of 2025 award recipients were recognised for their excellence at Auditorium 2.
It was a warm personal touch to have Mr Arene Koh, Superintendent South 7 at Ministry of Education, Schools Division grace the occasion as our Guest of Honour, for he was the Principal who faithfully guided the Class of 2025 through their years.
This celebration also marks the premiere of “AC Forever”, a music video written and produced from scratch by our students to commemorate our 140th year. The video offers a glimpse into the vibrancy of student life while marking this milestone year for the ACS family.

Continuing the Legacy
As ACS (Independent) celebrates 140 years, we give thanks for the people who make our school what it is: alumni, parents and friends. These halls are more than buildings; they are where friendships are forged, values are nurtured, and generations of Scholars, Officers, and Gentlemen have been inspired to grow into their fullest potential.
Today, we have an opportunity to ensure that the ACS spirit continues to transform the lives of students for years to come.
Celebrate and Contribute
In honour of ACS140, we invite you to contribute to the School Upgrading Fund. Your gift will help create a learning environment where our students can thrive, lead with purpose and carry the ACS legacy forward.
